dvd.club is a community-supported lending library where members share their film collections with each other.
Streaming is hard to beat for convenience, but shrinking catalogues, low bit-rates, and heavy-handed DRM have really lost some of the magic. Physical media is still the best way to experience cinema, and we want to build a place to keep that alive.
Stepping-in to fill a void left by Netflix DVD, Redbox, and countless others, dvd.club is built on a simple idea: the films worth keeping shouldn't vanish the moment a licensing deal expires. So much of what our members own you can't stream anywhere, at any price. The rest just looks better on a disc.

What is dvd.club?
dvd.club is a community-supported lending library where members can share their film collections directly with each other. You can browse our members' film collections for something to watch at your next film night and send the owner a request. If the owner approves, they will mail the film to you. Once you're done, just mail it back to them.
How many titles can I borrow at once?
Currently we only allow one title to be borrowed at a time.
Why should I lend my film collection?
You certainly don't have to, but dvd.club exists because of generous individuals who share their collections for the broader community to enjoy. Members who lend out their own collection are more likely to be approved when requesting a borrow.
How do I lend a film from my collection?
Search for the film, open it, and choose Lend your copy. You'll be asked for the format, region and edition.
Can I take a film back off the shelf?
Yes. Delete it from My library whenever you like, unless it's out on loan.
Do I have to accept every request?
No. You can decline any request, and you don't have to give a reason.
Is there a subscription fee?
No, dvd.club is entirely community-supported. dvd.club has no subscription fee because our members own the titles and lend them out directly to each other.
Who pays for postage?
The owner pays to post the film out, and the borrower pays to post it back. There's nothing to reimburse. Postage between countries costs a good deal more, so loans between members in different countries are less common.
Do I need to do anything to borrow a film?
You just need a membership invitation from an existing dvd.club member. Once you have registered for an account you can request to borrow any film you see.
How long can I borrow a film for?
We ask that members return the film within 14 days of the request being accepted.
Who can see my postal address?
dvd.club members mail titles to each other directly. This means that your address will be visible to the DVD owner once they accept your request. Similarly, if you are lending a title, the borrower will see your address so they can return the title once they are finished. After the exchange is complete neither the owner nor the borrower will be able to see the other's address.
The disc was damaged when it arrived, what should I do?
If the disc was damaged when you received it, please let us know so we can notify the owner. You should try and return it at your earliest convenience.
I accidentally damaged the disc, what should I do?
Accidents happen. Please be courteous and notify us as soon as possible so we can let the owner know. You should still try and return it at your earliest convenience.
What happens if my DVD gets lost, damaged or stolen?
So long as dvd.club remains a non-commercial community project, loss and damage are always a possibility. While we hope our members are respectful, accidents do happen, so please do not lend your signed copy of The Room :)
